Heat Transfer Analysis of Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchanger Using Fluid-Solid Interaction

This paper analyzes the fluid flow and heat exchange on the air side of a multi-row fin-and-tube heat exchanger. The CFD procedure, validated by comparing the numerical simulation results with the experimental results, was further improved by including the fluid solid interaction in the form of heat conduction through exchanger tubes. Simulation results correspond well with measured data and show parts where shape optimization could be beneficial.
