Thermal regimes of ablating layers
Thermal protection systems with ablation are widely used in different high temperature systems and technologies. To design an ablation process, an asymptotic mathematical model is developed in the present work. On the base on assumption that ablating layer is thin, it is managed to show, that the temperature fields in liquid and solid phases of ablating layer are quasi-stationary and the problem is reduced to two problems about motions of two phase transition boundaries. Calculations are made for different outer boundary conditions, corresponding to different regimes of ablation.
