Practicing International Humanitarian Law and International Criminal Law – Prosecution of International Crimes Committed During Armed Conflicts

Modern interest in international criminal courts arose out of World War I, after the use of new devastatingly weapons ; develops through the Nuremberg and Tokyo trials after the World War II, and culminates by the establishing the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda in 1990s, and finally by establishment of the International Criminal Court in 1998. But, this development is not finished yet - we are witnessing the creation of the new generation of criminal courts, so-called mixed or hybrid courts.
