Allergic reaction to azithromycin : a case report
Macrolides are considered the safest group of antibiotics, with very low prevalence of allergic reactions (0, 4-3%). Azithromycin, one of the macrolide antibiotics, has several unique pharmacokinetic properties that provide short-course therapeutic regimens due to its long elimination half-life (over 40 h) and wide antibacterial spectrum. We present a case report of a young patient who developed bullous eruption on oral labial and buccal mucosa and lips after ingestion of the third dose of azithromycin.
azithromycin; bullous eruption
