Macrologistic approach to the organization and effectiveness of a port system
The organization of logistics and business operations of a port or port system should be opserved from both macro and micro aspects, and by implementation of appropriate logistics it is possible to achieve the planned targets. From the aspect of macrologistics it is necessary to consider the reciprocity and dependency of ports within the network of traffic routes, the position of a port in relation to the role and extent of its commodity distribution centers, in other words its greater gravitational area, its relation to the extent and trends of commodity flows, dealings with other ports, i.e. it is necessary to cogitate all those factors of an economic system that have an impact indirectly or directly on the port as a subsystem and determine its position, importance, and development.
