Effects of genetic factors, atopic dermatitis and early childhood infections in development of asthma in children
Asthmatic allergic children were characterized by familial atopy and atopic dermatitis in the infanthood, and the group of non-asthmatic children by more frequent respiratory infections. The family history was positive with regard to atopy in 58.9 % allergic asthmatic children as compared to 357 % children with non-allergic asthma. Atopic dermatitis in the infanthood was present in 51.6 % children having allergic asthma in contrast to only 29.5 % non-allergic asthmatic children. Recurrent and frequent respiratory infections obtained in 45.1 % allergic asthmatic children as compared to 64.3 % non-allergic asthmatic children.
