Structural Finite Element Analysis of Rubber Parts
This paper deals with finite element calculation for large strain problems when using incompressible hyperelastic rubber material models. The Mooney-Rivlin and Van der Waals (Kilian) models will come into consideration. A general FEA implemenation procedure involving the penalty method aiming to solve the problem of rubber incompressibility has been set-up. Both material models considered have been implemented into a FEA code using this scheme, aiming to approve the performance of described approach for plain strain, axisymmetric and three-dimensional cases. Numerical examples show the performance of described implementation scheme.
