Mobility management for University Campus Borongaj (Case study: Zagreb)

Mobility management represents a set of measures oriented to passenger and cargo transport with the aim of changing the travelling mode in order to improve the traffic system efficiency. It includes strategies that improve the travel options, incentives to use the most efficient option for each trip, and more accessible land use patterns. One of the mobility management strategies is the development of the transportation plans which requires taking into consideration a wide spectrum of measures that need to be undertaken in order to propose a good traffic solution. Concretely, the transportation plans for the university campuses represent one group of plans that are used for the traffic mobility management. A high-quality solution of the mobility issue at the Campus would resolve also the traffic problems in the surrounding traffic network. Within this framework, the paper addresses the issue of data collection as one of the main tasks within the mobility management activities and the evaluation of their effectiveness. The paper also analyses the transportation plan for the University Campus Borongaj in Zagreb, as well as the collected data obtained by carrying out a survey among the students and the staff members related to the modal split, Campus traffic connections, issues regarding carpooling/carsharing system, parking facilities, average mileage of travelling to and from the Campus, etc.
