Re-PUVA therapy in treatment of mycosis fungoides
The Re-PUVA therapy (retinoid+8 methoxypsoralen+UVA) was applied in 17 patients (6 female aged 46 to 80 year and 11 males aged 42 to 82 years). The involvement of the skin of our patients was from 40-60%, in stage IA and IB. The duration of illnes was from 1-14 years. Two weeks before the photochemotherapy the patients had taken Tigason caps. in daily dose from 1 mg/kg body weight. After this period the photochemotherapy started with 8-MOP (meladinine 0,6 mg/kg body weight). The duration of therapy was from 14 to 190 days. The total UVA dose was from 30 to 800 J/cm2. The complete remission of disease we achieved in 12 patients (70.6%). a partial remission was in 3 patients (17.6%). The therapy was without effect in 2 patients (1.8%) According to our results we concluded that Re-PUVA therapy is very effective treatment in stage IA and IB of mycosis fungoides.
