Langerhans cells in dermatovenereology
In this study, Langerhans cells and their role in dermatovenereology are presented by literature data and our own results on their detection in seven different dermatoses. Appropriate methods for the detection of Langerhans cells in dermatology (also shown by our own experience) are histoenzymatic methods of adenosintriphosphatase (ATP-ase), and phosphatase (AP), alpha-naphthyl-acetatesterase (ANAE) and peroxidase-antiperoxidase immunohistochemistry method with polyclonal S-100 protein antibody (PAP). We used these methods in clinical lesions of eleven patients.
