Sažetak
In the previous work closed-form analytical expression for the error floor and general optimum sampling time of MSK signal transmission over a mobile radio channel with small time dispersion were derived with no usual restrictive assumptions about the impulse response of the channel and/or sampling time. That work has been extended to include other factors affecting the error floor (in tandem with multipath propagation) such as intersymbol interference due to band limiting filters at the transmitter and receiver, co-channel interference from another user, amplitude limiting, Doppler spread in the carrier frequency and particular decision method deployed at the receiver, whether it be coherent or noncoherent (i.e. mostly differential) bit detection. Specifically, this paper presents the analytical model of the effects of transmitter/receiver filtering on the error floor, where conclusions are supported by the computer simulation results.
