Impact of the Globalization Phenomena on Higher Education
The information society that we are all witnessing is imbued with new relationships between higher education and the society as a whole. Analysts of these relationships increasingly intensify the development of the 'academic capitalism’ theory that serves to explain the process of integration of universities and colleges into the new economy. The development and management of a system as complex as an integrated information system of universities, needs to be based on SP-IBIS strategy, which is the link between academic and information system strategies, as well as the business strategy. Its application presupposes the transformation of business doing in accordance with the demands of Bologna Declaration, such as lump sum financing method, requirements for high quality and timely information on competition, potential markets, potential financing sources, technology, as well as economic and political trends at disposal – discussed in more detail in the presentation.
