Upravljanje znanjem i ljudskim razvojem u turizmu

It is significant that it starts with the chapter "New challenges in the tourism and the emerging identity ", which simultaneously means that the educational and tourism identity in Croatia, for a number of reasons, it is not known, nor has the tradition. The authors, each with their point of view try to interpret the results and findings that compare with the achievements in the Republic of Croatia and other European countries. Jointly they come to the conclusion that this is the first phase of establishing a system of human resources management that is on its initial development. It also means that it is necessary to overcome the entrepreneurial and state paternalism in certain economic and social aspects, because it is currently slowing down the development of not only individuals but society as a whole. The second chapter entitled "Managing and measuring human development " discusses the concept of management and efficiency of intellectual capital in the hotel and the croatian society. It starts from the development of human resources of the Republic of Croatia and its regions and their impact on economic and tourism development. The results of research on measuring and managing intellectual capital are being interpreted. In the third chapter, entitled "Knowledge management in tourist destinations''? authors are comparing the data of research on specific entrepreneurial and managerial skills in tourism destinations. The authors emphasize the existing ambivalence of knowledge management as new managerial paradigm. The authors discuss the high school education and information literacy of the employees in the hospitality industry. They analyzed the social reality of knowledge management and human resources in tourism and hospitality of the Republic of Croatia.
