Implementation and Application of Krylov Subspace Methods in Model Order Reduction of Large-Scale Mechanical Systems
This paper presents a careful numerical implementation of block Arnoldi Krylov subspace method based on moment-matching in multiple interpolation points and its application in MOR of large-scale models of a mechanical system. To illustrate the efficiency of the proposed MOR technique, a numerical example has been presented. The influence of the interpolation points placement in the complex plane and orders of block Krylov subspaces on the frequency response of the reduced model has been investigated. With regard to the specific placement of system poles due to positive (semi)definitness of the matrices mass and stiffness matrices, several such choices have been compared, and the optimal strategy proposed.
