Organizational change as an instrument of overcoming economic crisis
This paper explores different aspects of organizational changes performed among Croatian enterprises. The current economic crisis, as well as the lack of research in the area of change management in Croatia gave an impetus to explore whether Croatian firms have the ability to adapt to current environmental forces. We discuss whether organizational changes, especially changes in firm’s organizational structure can act as an instrument in overcoming economic crisis. We explore which organizational structures are dominant in Croatian companies and, consequently, are they able to respond to current economic crisis, and at the same time accomplish their strategic goals. Different issues and aspects of change management process are examined in this paper. The paper is based on empirical data collected among Croatian firms just before firms started to get acquainted with the possible consequences of rapidly spreading economic crisis.
