The influence of limiting binder content on properties of SCC
Self-compacting concrete is a special kind of concrete that has ability to flow under its own weight, completely filling every part of the formwork and achieving full compaction. It offers rapid concrete placement, eliminates need for vibrating and shortens construction period. SCC is suitable for high performance, homogeneity and high durability of concrete structures. Main objective in this experimental work was to produce SCC, and to determine its workability and environmental influence after 2 hours of mix procedure. Several tests for SCC were performed for evaluating its mechanical properties. There were total 3 experiments. The first consisted of 4 mix designs with slag or fly ash as filler. Second experiment was modification of previous mix designs which observed economical parameter and limited total binder content. The third experiment tested influence of different admixtures on mechanical properties of SCC. The analysis and results are shown in the work.
