Characterization of folk instrument strings

In this paper characterization of tree different folk instrument strings was performed. Chemical composition of investigated strings was determined by combination of two analytic techniques: atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) and carbon sulphur determinator. Shape and microstructure of strings was analysed by means of optical microscopy (OM). Microhardness of folk instrument strings was determined by Vickers microhardness tester.
