Fire Flickering Detection Method for Discrimination of Optical Sources
The work analyses the detection and estimation procedure for recognition of a optical source (fire), based on the characteristic frequency of a changing signal amplitude (flickering), at a wave length of 950 nm. The flicker frequency of different optical sources (fire-based on different fuels, electrical lamps, light sources, etc.) have been measured with the measurement set and given experimental results for fire flickering detection  1 ,  2 . Using a mathematical procedure Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) on the detected signal from optical sources and extracted flicker frequency, it is possible to recognise determinate source, if several other optical sources are also in the same optical path.
Fire detection; multispectral detection; flickering frequency analysis; DFT; optical source recognition.
