RESEARCH WORK ON CREATING THE DATABASIS NECESSARY IN THE PRODUCTION OF GIS FOR THE AREA OF SALONA

On the basis of the experiences and collaboration with archaeologists and architects working on preservation and reconstruction of cultural monuments the need is being felt to unify the data from various professions. In this database there are historical, geodetic, photogrammetric, geological and other data relating to the locality Salona and enabling the examination of the existing situation and its reconstruction. Since our home and world public are not sufficiently acquained with the cultural monuments, the creation of such a database could be used as a model for presenting other archaeological localities at the territory of Croatia.
