Clinical and microbiological aspects of Lyme borreliosis in north-west Croatia
Thousand two hundred and eighty eight (1288) samples of clinical suspect patients on Lyme disease in north-west Croatia (Varazdin and Medjimurje county) have been analysed by microbiolpogical methods, included isolation of Borrelia burgdorferi and serological test (hemagglutination test, indirect immunofluorescnece test and ELISA test). Out of all tested patients, in 1/4 is confirmed Borrelia burgdorferi as an etiologoical agents. Lyme borreliosis as a main disease had 1/8 of patients and 1/16 as a secondary disease. In north-west Croatia II and III clinical stage of Lyme disease are the most frequent finding.
