Computer analysis of kinetic properties and morphology of human sperm
The computer analysis of the motility and morphology of sperm represents an important improvement in relation to the earlier subjective reviewing of the mentioned indicators. It allows the possibility of objective analysis of the function and biology of sperm. As such it represents a very important part of the male infertility diagnostics. The aim of this paper is to establish the connection between the properties of motility and morphology of sperm. 201 semen sample was computer analysed (CASA). The physical, kinetic and morphological properties were measured with the special emphasis on kinetics and morphology and their connection. It was found that all kinetic characteristics were significantly connected with the morphology of sperm. Four important properties of kinetics, VAP, VSL, VCL and AHL, have shown significant connection with the morphological parameters and therefore they are the main terms of reference of the computer analysis of the sperm motility.
