Ratios Between Leaf Mn Concentration and Mn Concentration in Must and Pomace of GrapeVine (Vitis vinifera L.)
Ratio between leaf manganese (Mn) of grapevine (Vitis vinifera cv. Sauvignon Blanc) and Mn concentration in must and pomace was studied in 2007 and 2008 on three vitisol subtypes: Dystric Cambisol (pHKCl 3.76), Stagnosol (pHKCl 4.69) and Rendzic Leptosol (pHKCl 7.27). Significantly higher Mn levels in leaves, must and pomace were determined on acid soils compared to calcareous soil. In 2007, Mn concentration in must was 2.6 and in pomace 2.2 times higher on Dystric Cambisol than on Rendzic Leptosol, and 3.6 and 4.5 times higher in 2008, respectively. The widest ratio between leaf and must Mn concentrations was recorded on Dystric Cambisol in 2008. Significantly lower must and pomace Mn concentrations may be explained by poorer Mn translocation from leaves into berries.
