Technology as a Factor of competitiveness on the World Merket - The Case of Croatia

One of the key features of the Croatian economy was, until the end of the last decade, the high concentration of large enterprises, just like in many other post-socialist countries. The concentartion has started chainging in the beginning of 1990s and today the relative amounts of the individual groups of enterprises are parctically identical to those in countries with developed market economies. However, large enterprises stoll reperesent the core of the Croatian economy. Therefore, the current unfavourable economic situation in Croatia should be considered in relation with the position of the large enterprises. Couses of such a situation are numerous, with the obselete technology, wich can not support competitiveness of the large Croatian enterprises, being one of the most significant ones.
