E-Learning as a Competitive Advantage – ZSEM Productivity Increase Strategies in Time of Global Financial Changes

E-learning and on-line teaching are transforming both traditional ways in which distance education is provided and traditional methods of higher education. In developing countries the challenge to implement e-learning is constrained by poor infrastructure and relative low awareness of the relevance of e-learning benefits due to the traditional mindset of people. Zagreb School of Economics and Management, one of the fist private business schools in Croatia, has been responding, right from its existence, to the technological changes and need for more dynamic ways of learning. Nowadays they are even highlighted more due to the pressures from global financial changes on the market that have been affecting educational sector in Croatia as well where the most important goal is to stay on the market with good financial results. This especially refers to cost-cutting strategies which help educational institutions, as ZSEM to beat efficiently their competitors with innovative strategies that also provide high quality education.
