Reflections on the Philosophical Foundations of Economics

Some critics of traditional philosophy of science and some most insistent on the need for a new empirical philosophy of science might object that philosophers of science do not know enough now to understand the structure or methods of economics. Philosophers of economics will have to trim, revise and even invent philosophical categories in trying to make sense of economic theory.
