ISO SPEED AS THE TECHNICAL AND CREATIVE ELEMENT OF THE DIGITAL PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHS
System of digital portrait photography from the viewpoint of influence of changes in ISO speed to colour and general impression of portrait photography is analysed. ISO speed is pointed out as one of the technical and creative elements of digitally captured portrait photography. Munsel ColorChecker and the real portrait were shot with the appropriate white balance, and exposure with ISO speeds of 100/21, 400/27 and 3200/36, edited with rendering with perceptual intents and analysed through L, a, b values, ΔE00, CIE ab diagrams and visual estimation. It is concluded that the digital photography system allows selection of higher ISO speeds than classical photography systems with no real impact on the perception of portrait photography. This allows working with lower lights and lenses speed. Nevertheless, this feature of digital shooting creates certain limitations in the working with available light.
