The Dynamics of Changes: How Different are the Transformation Results in Post-Yugoslav Countries?

The author compares the data in the most important international democracy indices on post-Yugoslav states and observes significant differences in the assessment of quality and consolidation of democracy. He asserts that these differences result from methodological problems of the analytical models on which the democracy indices are based. He proposes to compare the results of democratisation by applying a theory of transition actors and outlines such an analysis for all post-Yugoslav states.
