Prediction of Vibro-Impact Regimes in the Two-Degree-of-Freedom System With Clearances
The method of harmonic balance is used to construct an approximate analytical solution of the equations of motion of the two-degree-of-freedom system with clearances under periodic excitations. Considering this solution, the amplitudes in which the specific impact regime will exist, can be determined, as well as, the frequencies at which the transition between various impact regimes will occur. The analytical results are validated using a computational simulation of the piecewise full decoupling method. Close agreement is found between the transition frequencies resulting from both approaches.
