Geopolymeric binders prepared by using the Croatian coal-fly ash
The reported research examined the effect of different curing conditions on the strength development and phases formed in geopolymeric binders, i.e. the alkali activated aluminosilicate materials, prepared by using the Croatian coal-fly ash (ASTM Class F) and water-glass as alkali activator. FTIR, XRD and SEM/EDS have been used to identify the new phases and to follow the progress of their formation. In addition, the evolution of mechanical properties of prepared geopolymers has also been discussed in terms of products formed at different times of reaction.
