A Critique of Pure Consciousness
We seem to witness the dynamic and exciting growth of the study of consciousness, while at the same time having to realize that the object of the study, consciousness itself, shrinks more and more onto the basically sensory qualities. Once reduced to 'raw feels' the idea that conscious experience is something available immediately by attentive senses is almost unavoidable. The paper is an attempt of critical examination of such an attitude, and of affirmation of the idea that consciousness is cognitively grounded.
