Sensitivity analysis of a static friction model for pre-sliding precision positioning

In this paper sensitivity analysis of the Hsieh-Pan static friction model is outlined with the aim of providing a consistent quantitative estimation of error introduced into the model with the uncertainty of the parameters of the model. The analysis is carried out for the case of impulse control typology employed on the model of a real experimental system used by Courtney-Pratt and Eisner with the model parameters identified by Hsieh and Pan.
