Mathematical formulation of the model for the cyclic behaviour of 3D reinforced concrete structures
This paper presents a mathematical formulation of the three-dimensional material model for reinforced concrete structures under cyclic loading. The model which is previously developed for monotonic static loading analysis is extended. The model combines plasticity with a classical orthotropic smeared crack formulation. It is based on Mohr-Coulomb criterion for dominant compression and the Rankine criterion for dominant tension. A multi-surface presentation of the model is implemented which permits the rapid convergence of the mathematical procedure. The strain softening law as well as unloading and reloading curves which describe energy dissipation of the material due to cyclic compression are proposed. The proposed model shows satisfactory agreement with the experimental results.
