Numerical model of tension failure in 3D reinforced concrete structu

This paper presents combined fracture-plastic model for concrete based on the modified Rankine and Mohr-Coulomb material laws with special attention given to the behaviour of reinforced concrete structures exposed to the dominant tension influences. In the nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete structures complex mathematical functions are often used for simulating the tensile behaviour of concrete. Such analysis demands a lot of parameters which are results of complex and expensive experimental investigations. That approach limit usage of the models. This paper presents a model based on the Rankine material law which demands only main material parameters enabling very simple and efficient modelling of complex tensile behaviour of concrete material.
