Sažetak
The foot is the primary agent transmitting forces between the body and the ground. Mechanically, the foot acts as a beam or an arch, with most of the weight being transmitted at the heel and the ball of the foot.1 Its structure does require it to remain flexible in order to accommodate for majority of changes in surface orientation and irregularities. The purpose of this study was to examine the loads that are applied to the foot during normal gait stances and to that end we developed an algorithm that calculates the forces acting about the ankle joint, based on the measured ground reactions.
