The Policy of subsidies in Croatian hotel sector restructuring
The government policy of federal payments to an individual or organisation for which it receives no product of services in an open market economy is usually aimed, not at social function enchantment, but at fostering development. Subsidies represent a specific form of investment. In the hotel sector they are supposed to give an impulse to the hotel efficiency and the level of its quality. In the case of Croatian hotel sector government subsidies, are to help not only in fostering its development but also in restructuring whole sector aiming at rising up the level of its global efficiency. The main objective of the paper is to analyse, taking into consideration the experiences of developed market economies, in which way the government policy of subsidies in Croatian hotel sector would enhance, after which the Croatian government could subsidise hotel sector.
