Energy Economy Liberalization
Relation between energy needs and environment protection today represents an obstacle, but tomorrow it will become motor of a new economy. Emission Trading System (ETS) is closely connected to energy sector because of the fact that most of emissions are coming from energy conversion from electricity production. Energy transformation and liberalization process engaged all customers: buyers of energy sources, buyers of energy products and services, buyers of emissions. Liberalization determines separation of electricity and gas production from distribution, together with independent sales of energy which allows customer freedom to choose. Liberalization strengthened customer position and brought open market game between competitors. Field and desk research presented in this paper show how energy economy liberalization represents also a great challenge for energy companies all over the world because international changing environment and economic integrations in energy sector hits essential business principles of each energy company or country and their market position.
