Lubricant film modelling and band dressing upon influence of surface roughness
Lubricant used on the band with longitudinal roughness, rolls and the band make the basic tribomechanical system. Within the first analysis the rolls were considered to be smooth surfaces, and in the second analysis they were considered to be longitudinally rough. This tribosystem is described by the Reynolds differential equation for lubrication. The analysis is conducted through the differential equation with surface roughness incorporated through Fourier order. In the area of lubricant wedge on the band on front of the rolls the analysis has been extended upon influenceof surface roughness on the thickness of lubricant film on an inlet section of the deformation zone. Approximate analytical solutions have also been conducted and compared with numerical integration. Lubricant film modelling has been conducted in the friction area of surfaces which are not sufficiently covered with lubricant. In the process of band dressing the interiock angles tend to zero values, so the conducted analysis also takes into consideration the influence of thickness of lubricant film on the band relating the surface roughness on the thickness of the lubricant film on an inlet section of the deformation zone. The solutions of the differential equations which are gained by math programs MATLAB, MATHEMATICA and MathCADProfessional are modelled in Auto-CADn and 3DSMAX.
