Experiment design method in switch reluctance motor performance optimization
The paper presents the optimization methodology described on the basis of switch reluctance motor (SRM). The methodology enables the evolution of brand new rotor structures of SRM. The rotor geometry is divided into design areas which are imposed to optimization procedure. The correlation between the rotor geometric parameters at fixed current switching angles of applied switched-mode power converter is analyzed using experimental design method. On the basis of this method the proper SRM geometry is established regarding maximization of mean electromagnetic torque, minimization of torque pulsations and minimization of current loadings of switched-mode power converter at motor’s rated speed.
