The influence of human interferon alpha on hydrolytic enzymes studied by histochemical methods in cultured cells
In scope of possible mechanisms of anticellular activity of human leukocyte interferon alpha (HuLIFN), certain enzyme histochemical investigations were performed. After the FL-human amnion cells treatment with 1000 IU/ml of HuLIFN, localisattin of alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase and nonspecific esterase was analysed. Obtained results showed that HuLIFN treatment leads to a decrease of nonspecific esterase and in lesser extent of acid phosphatase activity. In two distinct types of amnion cells the redistribution of alkaline phosphatase occured after HuLIFN (1000 IU/ ml) treatment. Connected with decrease of some hydrolases histochemical activity , these should be further elucidated by more precise identification of individual enzymes that should be involved in the intracellular mechanisms of HuLIFN's anticellular activity.
