Analysis of the basic relations in the geotechnical testing of soil circular plate
In general terms, geostatical analyses should necessarily satisfy all statical patterns, among which the equilibrium conditions hold most important place. The issues of deformations are often related to determining of soil settlements and the load and settlement relation is covered through a so-called contact task. When preparing subgrade layers in the construction of roads (and in some other cases), a subsoil investigation by the means of a plate load test today represents a classic method of a field work accompained regularly also by a conventional (routine) interpretation of data recorded. Although it seems that there is nothing new to be said or added, the plate load test offers large possibilities for reinterpretation of the standard treatment methods and also for new inter-pretations. Just in the connection, the article considers some new options of data processing that, in the first place, will be the result of a coherent geostatical concept explained, which includes all essential elements appearing in the execution of the test performed with a circular test plate.
