100.000 Years of Neandertal cultural Evolution and Stasis in the Croatian Zagorje
The Croatian Zagorje is world famous for having both one of the richest collections of Neandertals - the 130.000 old fossils from Krapina, and some of the youngest Neandertals - the 45.000-35.000 old fossils from Vindija Cave. How did these Neandertals make a living? What did they eat? How did they adapt to the changing climates of the ice age? And how their culture evolve? Answers to these questions are provided through recent research on the cultural remains left behind by Neandertals at Krapina and Vindija.
