Apricot growth and fertility in high density orchards
Although there is no more intensive apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) cultivation in the area of Middle Dalmatia climatic conditions of this agroecological area enable its cultivation and successful production. In earlier researches two local unidentified cultivars were separated on the basis of the phenotype characteristics and planted together with alredy known cultivars Aurora and Orange red in comparative experiment in 2000 on Fereley - Jaspi rootstock. Research aim was to establish vegetative growth and fertility of local cultivars in comparision with cultivars Aurora and Orange red in high density orchard. Research results indicate significant differences in growth and fertility between local cultivars and cultivars Aurora and Orange red.
