Sažetak
Narrow fabrics are used in a wide field of products and there in different application, such are clothing, home textiles, automotive, aerospace, marine, military, also in electronics, medicine, environment, furniture sectors and etc. Narrow fabrics for military application can be used in body armor, combat uniform and helmets, waist belts, personal load carrying equipment, laces etc. All those are at high risk for burns. Because of usefulness of cotton and its high world annual consumption it is the most commonly used textile material in the design and production of protective clothing. Recently high-tech ribbons are increasing being used for the transmission of signals, energy and heat. All these fabrics have firstly to be protected against flame. This paper deals with flame retardancy of cotton narrow textiles which can be used as ribbons on protective clothing. For this purpose cotton samples were treated with organic phosphorous-based flame retardant with and without addition of natural zeolite by using continue pad-dry procedure. As usually higher narrow fabrics density it is not easy to reach good bath adsorption. This paper contributes to the flame retardant finishing of narrow fabrics based on ribbons adsorbency.
