Utjecaj uvjeta hidrolize na toplinska svojstva hibridnih materijala
Organic-inorganic hybrid materials are a type of nanostructured materials synthesised by sol-gel process which allows formation of the inorganic phase in situ. Sol-gel process is based on reactions of hydrolysis and condensation of metal, usually silicon, alkoxides, leading to formation of a 3D inorganic network. With use of organically modified alkoxides possessing a reactive organic group it is possible to prepare hybrid materials containing covalent bonds between phases. This improves interphase interaction and final properties of the material. Hydrolysis and condensation reactions are either acid or base catalysed, where acid preferentially catalyses the hydrolysis, and base the condensation reaction. Hence the morphology of inorganic phase within organic- inorganic hybrid materials is largely influenced by choice of catalyst and conditions of hydrolysis. In order to optimise the properties of hybrid materials based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and organically modified alkoxide, 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GLYMO), influence of hydrolysis conditions and choice of catalyst on degree of organic crosslinking, glass transition temperature and thermal degradation of the materials was investigated.
