Shear stress analysis using new special general quadrilateral finite elements
It is the purpose of the present paper to propose a new finite elements called special general quadrilateral finite elements, by which shear stress analysis of structures can be made easily and quickly. The mentioned new finite elements provide shear stress analysis on the basis of the cross-sectional warping. Cross-sectional warping face can be described by finite element axial nodal displacements. These new general quadrilateral finite elements can be used in thick as well as thin-walled beam type structures independent of their geometry. Stiffness matrix as well as load vector for Saint-Venants torsion and bending with shear are developed.
