Electrical Short Dipoles

Design of few short dipoles was described. The problem was to reduce the physical dimension of the dipole. At the frequency of 830MHz, the dipole was made with physical dimension reduced by a factor 3 in comparation with a lambda/2 dipole. The characteristic parameters of such antenna as impedance, radiation pattern, cross polarization and gain were measured. The results show some similarity with lambda/2 dipoles. Also, any further miniaturization with this technique was unsuccessful.
