Mechanical sublayer method in creep and relaxation phenomena numerical modelling

The paper deals with the numerical modelling of time-dependent phenomena. One of these time-rate effects is creep phenomena. In the numerical procedure of creep modelling a mechanical sublayer method is used. The basic characteristics of this method is that the solid to be analyzed is assumed to be composed of several layers each of which undergoes to the same deformation, but the total stress field is obtained by summing the different contribution of each overlay. In the paper the fundamental considerations in the field of theory of viscoelasticity as well as theory of viscoplasticity and their models are presented too.
