Sažetak
Sea pollution by oil and their derivatives due to effluents released from tankers is presented. International rules and conventions review, which proscribes monitoring of releasing polluted effluents from tankers, is given. In particular, relevant national regulations imposed by Croatian authorities are presented. The need to monitor and control of releasing polluted effluents to seawater, regarding allowed concentrations of oil within fluids against stated regulations, is underlined. Conditions for controlled releasing of polluted effluents from tankers are analysed. Description of the equipment, which form the system for monitoring, and managing of effluents releasing, is presented. Improvement of that system is proposed by fitting such equipment as to enable application of two here-elaborated procedures. These procedures aim for determination of type and degree of fluid pollution, regarding pollution from the oily waters from ship systems, and from metal elements harmful or toxic for sea ecosystem.
