MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF THE SINGLE-PHASE FOURQUADRANT PWM CONVERTER FOR TRACTION APPLICATIONS USING A GENERALIZED AVERAGING METHOD
State-space modeling of a single-phase four quadrant converter for traction application is presented. From the nonlinear switched state-space model a multi-frequency averaged linear timeinvariant model (LTI) is derived which is applicable for steady-state and small signal analysis. It is shown how to derive LTI models of arbitrary accuracy which can be used for fast simulation, direct steady-state calculations, and for small signal analysis. Applicability of the method for analysis of disturbance progression from the DC-link into the grid, and vice-versa is presented.
