The influence of the habitual physical activity on functional and motor abilities in middle aged women
Physical abilities decrease with age during the active working phase of life. The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of physical load on functional and motor characteristics of middle aged women. The sample comprised 333 women, aged 31-50, divided into younger (31-40) and older (41-50)group.The groups were compared accoding to the functional and motor abilities. When total sample was compared the younger subjects performed better, as expected, because of the age difference. But, when only active older subjects were compered with younger inactive subjects the differences diminished. It can be concluded that older active subjects had functional and motor abilities biologicaly a decade younger, even better that younger inactive subjects.
